AIS Assists in Journalists' Release from North Korea

Longtime client of AIS, Avjet Corporation, recently played a crucial role in the release of two American television journalists imprisoned in North Korea. Avjet, an international provider of private air travel solutions, supplied air transportation for former President Bill Clinton. The trip, extremely confidential during the planning and permit process, came together quite quickly. AIS was instrumental in assisting Avjet in obtaining agreements and required documentation from insurance underwriters to extend coverage during the flight to and from the highly controversial destination. Negotiations began on a Friday afternoon, extending late into the evening and on thru the weekend in order to be ready for departure first thing Monday morning. Multiple after hour conference calls with the many different individuals involved, enabled Avjet to get their documentation and permits in line on time.

As the country watched with anticipation when former President Clinton arrived in North Korea and successfully negotiated the release of the two journalists, those of us at AIS watched with pride knowing the part we played in such a historic event.
